What's New
In September 2009, Remittance Prices Worldwide published new data for the second time since the site was launched in September 2008. Users of this website can still retrieve the remittance prices shown in the previous iterations of the database by clicking on the relevant collection period.
As part of a continuous improvement effort and in response to suggestions from a variety of users of this website, a number of new features have been added to the database.
New features include:
- 33 new corridors have been added:
-- 8 from Australia
-- 8 from New Zealand
-- 5 from the United Arab Emirates
-- 2 from Singapore
-- 2 from Brazil
-- 1 from Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ghana, Japan, Malaysia, Tanzania
- More operators surveyed
- Operators that did not provide all the relevant information have been 'flagged' as non-transparent
- For some operator more than one product has been surveyed. In these cases, information on product type is available, within the following categories:
-- Door to door
-- Cash to cash
-- Account to account (same or other bank)
-- Cash to account
-- Credit/debit card service
-- Online service
-- USD, EUR or LCU service
- New and more user-friendly design of the tables displaying remittance prices. This includes the possibility for users to obtain more detailed explanations through pop-ups and data comparisons.
